During our last parent-teacher conference or PTC at the little boy’s school. The teacher mentioned that he likes arts and that love for art includes drawing and coloring. He loves to cut art materials even cutting tape to put his artwork proudly on the door or wall in the house for us to see them day and night. I am just making sure that while he enjoys doing all these art stuff, as a mother I want him to cut things safely. he is at the stage where he constantly use the scissors. Aside from constantly reminding him to be careful with it, I want him to use materials first of all that are safe especially for kids.

I once found those Martor USA box cutters along with safety knives, safety cutters that has many unique, patented safety features. Just what I need for use for the little boy. This coming summer he will be putting them more into use when he is on a school break and I am planning to enrol him in an art class as well. I hope he will enjoy art more and develop more art skills and passion for it.

Our lil boy finally was able to bring to school this Christmas wreath to decorate their classroom. This was actually the same wreath that he brought to school last year and the teacher returns it to us after the Christmas holiday. We use this as Christmas decor too at home when they are on Christmas break already after next week. I love this one. I think as far as I can remember, I got this cheap at one of the malls in town. It was on sale I think at GM. It was actually quite salable according to the sales lady.

My boys love soccer. We are fans of the Azkals. Hubby’s love for soccer/football had an influence on our little boy who equally love it as well. Good thing their school offers an elective class for kids who love to play soccer. The Azkals may have had an inlfuence too on the increase on the number of students this year at school who plays soccer.

The little boy started playing last summer since soccer was part of the summer class program offered by the school. The little boy took the two classes = first and second batch so he played soccer all summer long. With the second batch the school allowed him to just take the soccer class for a fee of P400 I think instead of the P4,500 (like in the first one where aside from soccer there was a class too in the morning and soccer was in the afternoon). Good thing going to school is no problem for us.

The little boy has joined the grass roots training offered at Agro. That Cherifer event was found by hubby at Facebook since he follows the soccer community in the city. Next was the Kadayawan soccer tournament where the school participated in. These opportunities which we are happy that the little boy was able to experience at a young age of four. There is a lot to learn in terms of foot work and running. But for now, it is enough that he loves soccer and he loves playing it.

As a mother though I always pray for his protection and safety at all times when they play soccer.

I found a plaque that was given to me so many years ago as a recognition for some achievement in school. Receiving one of the plaques of recognition was a happy and precious moment for me and my family especially for my parents. This brings back happy and proud memories not only for me but for my parents as well.

It makes me feel happy actually to be able to let my parents go up the stage every recognition activity in school during my school years to accept a medal usually for my being an honor student in class. I was shy and not much into extra-curricular activities which was kind of a set back or disadvantage for me at that time yet I still manage to got good grades and somehow excel in my studies in my own way. Well that was years ago. I don’t know now if I can still show that level of being studious as I once was. I don’t get to have much time to read anymore now because of my busy life as a mommy and wifey.

The lil boy has fallen asleep early this evening. Before going to sleep myself, I found myself looking into photos I have managed to take at school from last school year. Seeing photos of the two teachers in preschool including my lil boy’s own teacher brings back happy and somewhat a little sad memories. These teachers were a part of my son’e learning as Miss L was his very own teacher and she has resigned for some personal reasons I think.

Then Miss A was the patient teacher when it comes to kids with some special needs yet quite strict in the right way. She was able to help me in a few little difficult times with the little boy especially when there was a time that he won’t go into class. But that just happened during that time when his teacher Miss L was absent on and off from class.

Well these two teachers will be missed. I am grateful for their patience and care that they have given to my lil boy. I wish Miss A the best of luck as she pursues a greener pasture in NZ from what I heard. Thank you so much Teachers!!!

This evening I am feeling so happy for the little boy as he shows me how much he has improved in writing letters of the alphabet. I am happier to see him enjoying it and he is keen on learning and we appreciate the interest to learn and do it in him. Both hubby and I have not much spent time to coach him on writing as much as we wanted to before because he would easily lose interest in it. But now he sits on it for a longer time writing.

I am happy for the little boy for he take practice writing seriously though I make it a point that it is a fun learning experience for him and I encourage him more by appreciating his work and telling him he is really doing good. I have seen handwritings of six and eight year old kids and his four year old writing now can be comparable in some way already. With more practice I hope he will master it and am just praying this interest would not go away from him.

With a balance of sports since he will be pursuing soccer class that he started whole summer recently, I hope his learning will be more enhanced that it is not all learning but there is time for play that is in sports particularly soccer as well.

There are more people that I know who have ventured into the business of beautifying and pampering other people. I know their staff undergoes training and will benefit if there is an accredited school of beauty in town like the Springdale beauty school who can train them further and enhance their talents and skills in this field.

The last time they had one and his first actually, it was really fun! We had tons of photos of that which reminds me that I want to print all the photos and make a photo album. I wish hubby can help me but just don’t count on that.

There is an upcoming school play at my niece’s school and I wonder if the teacher was serious when one of her group mates was asked to wear something like one of those french maid costumes. My niece will be wearing a more conservative and a different costume altogether – a nun! I wonder where we can borrow one. It is easier to borrow a costume for a priest since my mom is close to the priests in our church or those altar boys some of whom are our neighbors. I guess my sister has to find a way or maybe we could go to the RVM sisters. Hope we still know some of those left behind here so we can borrow a costume for my niece’s school play in a couple of weeks.

It made me think we could do it again her at home and we just need some beading supplies just like those from beadaholique which has most supplies for any of your beading or craft jewelry project. When we made this bracelet, we did not have any wire working tools and so it was hard for a first timer like us to tie the knot to lock it. I had to ask one of the teachers there to tie it for us so that we can move to the next activity for the day. *wink* I still have this bracelet and it will be a souvenir of that fun and happy first mother and child day at school for us.

Last Saturday when I came to fetch the little boy at school. He has this school art work in his hand running towards me. Every time he comes out of school he has an artwork to show to me and this is the latest one.

He ran and came to whisper it is a flower. I am really so happy to see him each time proudly showing me what he had done in school that day.

It looks like a hand to me for this flower must have been made tracing his hand, cutting it out and made into something like a flower. Funny thing because of the straw to which this “flower” was attached, he used it to sip water from his water bottle while saying “Look Ma!” as he drank water through the straw while I was praying the straw was clean. Goodness gracious! I had to tell him not to do it again to which he nodded and smiled.
