New Year’s Sale

The latest mall in town is having an ongoing New Year’s Sale until the 15th or so. When we went around the mall recently, I noticed all stores has these big and attractive sale signs displayed. It could really be so tempting to shop for some new clothes to change a little of my wardrobe which I have not changed for quite a long time. Yes I am a mother and there have been other more important priorities that I usually forego of shopping just to prioritize what needs to be prioritized.

But a new year’s sale just makes me think once again of that sears coupons that I wish I have and can use not to shop for clothes this time but to get one of the kitchen electrics, stuff and accessories that is still in my list up to now. Hubby and I are currently looking for some cooking ware set and we’d be happy to purchase what we have in mind. We have been scouring the local stores and still have not found what we wanted. There may be an ongoing new year’s sale for kitchen stuff online somewhere and I just got to find it.

Christmas Lights Galore at Mana Davao 2011

We finally visited the Christmas Lights Galore at Mana Davao 2012 last night. This place is somewhere near Robinson’s Cybergate. I personally like it better viewed from afar. Mana Davao is an antique furniture shop in the city that has traditionally has this show of lights every Christmas for the past few years now. I like their design this year compared last year though I personally think the best was during Christmas 2009 as far as I can remember since 2007 when I first heard about their Christmas lights display. But we missed it in 2007 and only the year after that in 2008 when I first visited their display. You can see photos here of Mana Davao’s Christmas Trees, Decors & Lights in 2008.

Do you know this whole things costs them around P2.5million? Yes that is what I read from the local news. It is a very expensive endeavor though I think the owners of Mana wants the people of Davao to be happy and delighted with their Christmas lights display every year. I think this year they opened the place to the public rather late I think December 17 unlike previous years when it was usually earlier. The last day will be on January 3, 2012. So for those who still want to go there, you still have a few days left.

It has become like a landmark during the holiday season in Davao city that people flock to Mana with their families especially with the kids to enjoy and have their souvenir photos taken. For sure there are lots of happy memories captured here for many families and kids in Davao. You just have to be quick in snapping those photos as the place can be really crowded especially towards Christmas day and especially early evening. This year I think they

The mascots are not there anymore which may be the reason that there were not too many people anymore which is better for me. Though there are still more people than I expected when we arrived around eleven in the evening. The traffic is lighter less than an hour before midnight. There is a 911 police patrol car in front plus I saw about two to three traffic police managing the traffic. A few nights when the display started, the traffic was really heavy around the Bajada area.

After spending surprisingly almost an hour snapping shots with the little boy and the three of us together, we got hungry and went to the new Jollibee DMC branch for the first time since it opened earlier this month last December 15. We are happy with the time spent there and the shots we have, it is time to make our tummies happy. *wink*

Christmas Wreath Decor

Our lil boy finally was able to bring to school this Christmas wreath to decorate their classroom. This was actually the same wreath that he brought to school last year and the teacher returns it to us after the Christmas holiday. We use this as Christmas decor too at home when they are on Christmas break already after next week. I love this one. I think as far as I can remember, I got this cheap at one of the malls in town. It was on sale I think at GM. It was actually quite salable according to the sales lady.

Quick Shopping

Hubby and I went for a quick shopping today at VP. I got a black dress which if I may say was a golden find because the price was really a steal. I saved a lot from that dress for the party we will be attending on Sunday. I was actually going for a dress that was five times more expensive yet am not quite comfy with. This dress I found this afternoon has a nice fit and just the length that I was kind of looking for. The fabric is also something I kind of like. The best thing about this quick shopping was that I saved a lot on the dress. I am really happy that hubby accompanied to do that quick shopping. He was able to buy his own new black shoes for office use and for the party as well.

I am happy as well, on the other hand when we also found the adult diapers that we were supposed to donate for a Christmas charity activity by a group that we promised to help with their mission for a local institution as part of their Christmas offering and a way of sharing their blessings to the elderly. We have been looking for those diapers that were out of stock in two mall we went to the past week. This day’s quick shopping was all fruitful. I asked for a sign if we would go to the party or not and it was given. Thank you LORD!

Cars Beanz | Mighty Beanz

Our little guy got his first Christmas gift this Cars Beanz | Mighty Beanz from us today the first day of the merry month of December. Hubby and I were at the mall looking for a lamp shade when we passed by Toys R Us. We were actually looking for clay for the lil boy who loves to play with it again since summer for the past week or so. So we thought we might buy him more clay to play with.

This sales guy at Toys R Us convinced us that this will be fun to play with and it can be brought anywhere. He said the lil guy can play with it in his arms. We” we gave it a try and so there it is. Our little guy was so happy when we came home from school and found the Christmas tree up already though bare yet. More so when he found out that he was getting a gift, hist first one for this Christmas. Hopefully we would be able to give him more. This Beanz will do for now. He is really excited and happy to show it to his friends in school.

Inspire Christmas Concert

It was a happy night with dear hubby to watch the Inspire Christmas Concert at the Abreeza Mall last night. The screaming fans around us made me smile and it actually made me wonder how fun it was to be at their age, screaming to the top of their lungs when they saw their idols Sam Milby and Yeng Constantino.

I was happy to see the parents of my classmate and friend who were seated in the row in front of us. Someone I know who works for the mall too sat beside me and we enjoyed the show all the while amidst the screaming, delighted fans surrounding us. At one point, I could not help but screamed in delight as well.

Santa Clause Movie

Santa Clause is one movie we enjoyed watching all three of it – Santa Clause 1,2 and 3!

With the Christmas season here, it is that time when I try to make time during break from work to watch a movie about Christmas. Christmas is a fun time and it is the best time of the year for me. Watching movies about it makes me feel happier to be honest. It makes me look forward to the merry feeling of the season. Gonna hunt for more Christmas movies and watch them when we can.

Gift For Him

Dear hubby’s birthday is coming up and just a thought of buying him something other than the usual treat to a buffet in our fave five star hotel buffet restaurant in town. I have been looking into these stainless steel bracelets which I am thinking he might like. Or maybe a new watch to replace his old one could also be a nice gift.

I would still have to ask him what he may really want for a birthday gift. He often shy away when asked but I think I can prod him to find what he wants and I’ll see if I can get what he wants as a gift for his birthday. I’ll bring him to one of those jewelry stalls in the mall and see if he can find anything he likes and I’ll get an idea from there on.

Stronger

I am happy that my sister called again today and this time I got to answer her call. I missed a call from her last week. She was about to invite me for a food trip then but since I missed her call, I missed the food trip with her that time. The other day, I missed getting a text from a friend. Could it be the weak signal here at home sometimes? It must have been the reason because when we receive mobile phone calls inside the house, it seems we could use some help from the wilson cell booster that a friend was telling me about last week. I told hubby we need a stronger signal here inside the house so that we do not have to go outside the house and let our supposedly private phone calls be overheard by our neighbors. A stronger cellphone signal inside is something we have to work out. I just hope hubby will have time for this one of these days.

Anniversary Cake

The anniversary cake (being bf and gf that is) which we had a few years ago which I managed to find among our thousands of photos as I went through my back up file of our photos.

Looking at this makes me think I miss eating a cake and a chocolate cake at that! I am at the same time more importantly looking forward to more happy years ahead of us.
